July 3, 2017

The Central New York Citizens in Action, Inc., the Working Families Party, progressive Democrats, and our allies and coalition partners will be marching in the Utica July 4 parade. Please join us to spread the progressive message of shared prosperity, democracy, and fairness. Progressive values are America’s values! We will be passing out literature and Citizen Action pencils!!!

Please assemble at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 4 at Butler Ave. which intersects Sunset Avenue. The staging area is behind the Our Lady of Lourdes Church (2 Barton Ave, Utica, NY 13502, off Genesee Street in South Utica). The parade will start at 11 a.m. sharp. The parade route travels north on Genesee St. to the Memorial Parkway, turns right on to the Parkway and ends at Parkway Recreation Center, Oneida St., (1.1 miles).

You can make this event a success by: marching, bringing items to decorate the vehicle, carrying signs to promote economic and social justice, passing out pencils and literature, performing music (playing drums or kazoos).
